Aesthetic Surgery

People who choose to have aesthetic surgery—surgical changes of the face, breast and body—often report that the results are life changing. We offer skilled and compassionate aesthetic surgeons who can help those wanting to modify unwanted features and amplify their natural beauty.

The decision to have aesthetic surgery is a significant and highly personal one and should be made only after you meet with a board-certified plastic surgeon and fully understand what surgery can and cannot achieve.

Overview

Should you choose to be treated by a member of our aesthetic surgery team, you can be confident your surgeon will take the time to understand your particular needs and help you understand the benefits and risks of the various treatments available to you.

Cosmetic and Functional Breast Procedures

Breast augmentation and breast reduction are two popular cosmetic procedures used for enhancing the size and shape of breasts.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation surgery involves placement of a breast implant to achieve enhanced volume, shape and fullness of the breasts. Augmentation can also involve fat transfers from another place in the body (also called fat grafts) to make breasts larger and fuller. Sometimes, an aesthetic surgeon will use a combination of implant and fat graft to achieve the desired results.

There are two main types of breast implants—saline and silicone—and both come in smooth or textured outer-shell options. Saline implants are filled with a sterile saline fluid and silicone implants are created from cohesive silicone materials often referred to as “gummy bear” breast implants. Each type of implant comes with its own list of benefits and risks, and your surgeon will discuss them with you.

Our plastic surgeons are skilled in using a number of different surgical techniques and will choose one that helps ensure the implant sits properly in the breast. Using the implants and breast-shaping techniques available, our plastic surgeons can create the look you are seeking.

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction often is considered a functional as well as cosmetic surgery because it can be used to address the physical difficulties associated with larger breasts, including chronic neck, back and shoulder pain, as well as sweating and skin irritation under the breasts. Reducing the size and weight of larger breasts can alleviate discomfort and pain, and can greatly improve a person’s quality of life. Breast reduction also improves the shape and position of the breasts and many women notice results similar to that of a breast lift. Our breast reduction specialists use a number of surgical techniques, including liposuction, to create smaller, natural-looking breasts.

Tummy Tuck

Also known as abdominoplasty, tummy tuck surgery involves the removal of fat and skin from the abdomen, which results in a tightened stomach and waistline. Someone who is uncomfortable with the appearance of their stomach area often chooses a tummy tuck for its slimming effect; the surgery also can repair muscle and restore strength. Abdominoplasty is often combined with liposuction or other body contouring procedures to optimize results. Our surgery specialists will discuss these options with you thoroughly so that you can make a decision that is right for you.

Facial Surgery

We use a variety of surgical procedures to help people achieve a more youthful facial appearance. Face, neck, brow and eyelid lifts can eliminate sagging skin caused by the natural aging process and by weight loss. Rhinoplasty can be performed by our plastic surgeons to improve the shape of the nose as well as address any breathing difficulties. These procedures are often combined to restore a youthful yet natural look.

If you are considering any form of cosmetic surgery, it is important to choose a board-certified surgeon who is experienced in an extensive array of surgical techniques that will result in natural-looking results. Our aesthetic surgeons are board certified.

What to Expect

Once you request an appointment, our team will call you to schedule your initial consultation.

In the first appointment, you will meet with one of our board-certified specialists to discuss your personal goals and possible treatment options and our concierge will help guide you through the treatment process.

For any cosmetic surgery you might be considering, our surgery team will collaborate to create a 3-D simulation of what your surgery results will look like. After you view this simulation, you and your surgeon can work together to adjust the treatment plan as needed. We won’t schedule surgery until you are confident in the treatment plan and its projected results.
