Mentorship

Each resident is assigned a faculty advisor early in their first year. The advisor acts to mentor the resident and helps to focus and enhance their clinical and research training. They provide support to the resident continuously throughout their residency and also serve as an opportunity for residents to discuss personal challenges they may be facing. Discussions are kept confidential to foster a trusting environment for residents. The mentor/mentee meetings are held semiannually.

Residents also have a “buddy system” with assigned residents in more advanced years of training to act as a mentor as well.
