The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is an international center for research on treatment methods, surgical techniques and new approaches to medicine. Our ambitious scientists and surgeons are at the forefront of discovery in all ten subspecialties of plastic surgery, working to bring their latest findings from lab benches to active patient care. With a lineup of twenty clinical researchers, 2000+ feet of wet lab and over $6.5 million in active awards, the division is a hub of exploration.
The division is offering opportunities to join the innovative, dynamic work being conducted in our research laboratories. Labs are actively looking for experienced, dedicated, and ambitious researchers to fill the positions listed below.
Research Fellow
The Plastic Surgery Research Laboratories in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine are looking for a research fellow to join the multi-disciplinary research team. A successful candidate will be involved in creating bioengineering platforms for tissue regeneration, focusing on head-to-toe basic science and preclinical research topics relevant to plastic surgery. A successful candidate will spend at least one dedicated year to full time research in this domain working with faculty including Drs. Justin Sacks, Xiaowei Li and Matthew Wood.
This position is for graduate or medical students or recent medical school graduates still seeking residency who are coming to Washington University to work on a research project as part of practical training or for thesis/dissertation research while maintaining student status with their home university.
