Research Interests

Dr. Parikh is an integrated plastic surgery resident who recently completed two years of academic development time/research (2015-2017) supported by a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Ruth L. Kirschstein Institutional National Research Service Award. Dr. Parikh also completed a master of population health sciences degree (2016) at Washington University School of Medicine and is currently investigating health disparities, value-based healthcare delivery, surgical outcomes and surgical treatment decision-making in the breast cancer population. He is active in plastic surgery organizations nationally and is currently serving a 3-year term as the American College of Surgeons’ RAS representative on the Plastic Surgery Advisory Council. Dr. Parikh is also on the Resident Advisory Board for the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS). In medical school, he was a Silbiger Grant recipient for research concentrating on surgical outcomes following breast reconstruction. His clinical interests are in reconstructive surgery for cancer patients and microvascular reconstructive techniques. Dr. Parikh plans to pursue a microsurgery fellowship after residency training.
